Curse of instinct is a young hardcore band from Maribor, Slovenia, which sprouted from the remains of some local bands in the early fall of 1999. We all knew eachother from shows and decided to form a band but it should be unlike so many others in the area. We were listening to bands like Shield, Barrit, Undying, Asshole parade,..., which have eventually all of them left a significant impact on our music. The best way to describe our music style is, I think, very emotional metalcore. However, we started writing songs and rehersing, and eventually playing small shows. People seemed to like what we were doing, which gave us fuel for continuing what we started. It was at that time that the hardcore scene in our country was in full growth in some seperate regions and we were only one of the bands that played that type of music. That gave us the opportunity to get to know eachother quite well and we got a chance to release a tape on When The Day Comes Records, which is owned by Valter, our friend from our fellow band Entreat. The shows were becoming better and we started getting dates outside Slovenia so we were working hard on new songs. The next release was a split 7'' with Foreclosure (awesome band from the Netherlands & good friends) which included two of our older songs. Since then some new material was written and recorded and is to be released 31.10.2002 on Burning Season Records as a MCD carrying the title "As the rain falls down...". In the past month we have made a change in our line-up- our former guitar player Uros has been replaced by Bostjan, who had been our friend for some time before. We feel that Curse Of Instinct is now put together perfectly and are very busy rehersing and writing new stuff as we are planning a short european tour in the first days of february 2003. On our way we met many interesting people and made many good friends which have been helping us in every way they can ever since. It's a pleasure and an honor for us to have met all of them and we always keep in mind the times they helped us out in any way. Curse of instinct is our voice, our heart and our means of expressing our sadness, fear and hate and our view on the world around us. It gives us the opportunity to express our feelings and thoughts in a way that makes them also interesting for the people who listen to our songs.
